i made it!

Oh my gosh - I just got through playing Oregon Trail - AND I MADE IT TO OREGON!

WHAT AN EXCITING DAY!! Guys, I'm pretty sure that I never made it before, and now I think I'm going to cry. Here's my points breakdown, for comparison sake:

2 people in poor health - 600
1 wagon - 50
3 oxen - 12
6 spare wagon parts - 12
5 sets of clothing - 10
64 bullets - 1
348 lbs of food - 13
$22.50 cash - 4

TOTAL - 702, except I got DOUBLE Points for going as a carpenter!!! :) so it's really 1404!

Happy day. And now, I must go back to packing - YUCKY!

that's all.

oh my gosh. . . it's oregon trail!!

Hey y'all!

I totally found a way to play the old Oregon Trail Game!!! WHOOOP!!

Go to this site: http://www.classicgaming.com/rotw/otrail.shtml

Down at the bottom there's a place to Download the Oregon Trail Apple II Disk Image

and AppleWin, the Apple Emulator. It's kind of tricky at first, but once you figure it out - it's AWESOME!! It's just like the old ones we used to play in Jr High...so many memories.

Ok, I'm off to play!! Screw the packing - this can't wait!! WHOOOP!!!

that's all.

school's out!!

GET EXCITED. As of 11:23.5 am this morning, SUMMER SCHOOL IS OVER, BABY!! Good riddance! Just think - never again will I have to sit through another summer school class! And best of all, I think that I did good enough on my final today, to pull a C in the course! Whoop for that.

On a side note, Tommy came into town yesterday! I've missed that kid like no other and can't WAIT to room with him this year! We had so much fun just talking and catching up about the summer. My old youth minister and his wife made a comment to me via e-mail last week, that it's so incredible to have close friends, who even if you haven't talked to them for a really long time, you can just pick right back up where you left off and it's like you just talked to them yesterday. That's so true, and was exactly how I felt with Tommy. We're such awesome friends, that even the oceans that lay between us over the summer didn't change things. Anyway - I know that sounds super sappy and probably highly cheesy, but that's ok. I treasure my friends - my TRUE friends that I have made at college. Until I came here, I didn't really understand what friendship was all about.

I count myself among the super blessed. And now - to celebrate!

that's all.
