oh my gosh...

Wow - you want a good laugh, check out this livejournal I apparently had when I was a freshman at A&M. I just ran across it after looking at my old geocities webpage. You can look at that, too - but be forewarned, it has a really low data transfer per day, so it will probably be locked out.

Notice my moods - I was apparently always pissed off. And note all the entries about my roommate - it makes me wish I had written more, and REALLY wish that I had written the year after this when I had psycho JIMMY for a roommate - that would've been even better.

that's all.

pet peeves

Here's your chance to get your pet peeves out in the open for all to see (and maybe take note of). I'll start with a couple of mine:

* People who don't use their turn signals
*Toilet paper that comes under the bottom of the roll instead of over the top.
* And while we're on toilet paper - people who leave about 4 little sheets of TP on the roll to prevent themselves from having to change it.

and now it's your turn...post 'em (you know you've got 'em)!

Cry Out to Jesus

from "Cry Out To Jesus"
Words by Mac Powell / Music by Third Day

For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains
You try to give up but you come back again
Just remember that you're not alone in your shame
And your suffering

There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus

This is such an encouraging song for me right now. And how true! If we will just humble ourselves and cry out to Him, He will hear us, and he WILL respond. Man, God is so good!!

that's all.

Ironic t-shirt of the weak (pun intended)

Seen at the rec on Tuesday (and just shut up with your "the fact that Eric was at the rec is probably more ironic than the shirt" comments)

One of those old little league jerseys, you know, the ones that the business that has sponsored the team has their name written across the top of the back:

City Meat Market
8

Oh my goodness. Maybe the rec sponsored their team...

That's all.

reflecting on an empty life

What a broken world we live in. It amazes me to look around and see how all that God created for us, in its perfection, has been screwed up by our own rebellion, stupidity and ignorance. And I am no exception.

what am I doing?what do I believe?what really matters?how am I going to impact this falling apart world for Christ?and when am I going to do it?Time is fleeting, and I am letting it slip through my fingers.

Tonight has been a serious time of reflection for me.

Whose praise am I seeking?
What master do I serve?

I have to reassess. I have to refocus. I have to do it now.

I am serving my flesh, my lusts, my impurities.
I am serving man's praise and recognition.
I am serving success.

I am serving everything but what really matters.

And that saddens me, scares me, and angers me all at once. I cannot go on like this - I have to rediscover the first love of my life, my Savior and the fulfilled and incredible life I can live in Him. I miss the intiimacy with God that I used to have and wonder how I could have fallen so far away so quickly. I long to rediscover that love, that joy. And yet I know that God has not changed - it is me who needs to return to Him, not the other way around.

My prayer tonight is for brokenness, for understanding, for sincerity and for honesty - with myself, with my friends and most importantly with my God.

"Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:14-16

May I stop trading what God has given me for the things of the world. Step up to the plate and seize the relationship, the opportunities and the life that He has waiting for me!

that's all. and that is enough. it HAS to be.

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!

WELCOME TO THE CRAPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE IN QUITE SOME TIME...

Alarm
ArtFest
Meeting
GBush
RTree

I don't even want to go into it, but I wonder if it's me that is the problem - maybe I need to check my attitude, my life, my everything. Right now I'm pretty sure I'm one big screw up after another. It's really a shame...it really is.

that's all.

IDIOT

i definitely just woke up . . . and I have NO idea how I could've slept so long...I think I may have forgotten to set my alarm, woken up at some point having a dream that I didn't need to be awake, and then went back to sleep. Whatever the case, I was definitely supposed to do a half day of subbing today (the first three periods). Third period is over at 10:45. I'm probably going to get fired - and honestly, who could blame them.

Add this to my growing stack of inadequacies, screw ups, and stupidities lately...I am pretty much in desperate need of rescuing.

that's all.

Feeling lost in a wave of confusion
Drowning in a sea of sin and despair
I Pray for redemption
I cry for rescue

I need help
I need You
