MY AUSTRIAN SUMMER IN PICTURES

And they're up! They've actually been online for a LOOONG time, but I was trying really hard to get all of the captions finished before I posted the link...Alas I did not - OH WELL, I'll get them done sometime! You don't HAVE to be an imagestation member to look at the pictures, but it's a cool service (kind of like shutterfly) if you're interested - and the prints that they send are INCREDIBLE!

Enjoy and let me know if you have questions, or would like a guided tour!

SOAP HAS BEGUN!!

I am SO stinking pumped!!! Tonight the all new SOAP (reminiscent of OPAS, huh?) Bible study met at my house for the first time! I am so excited to see how God will use this time to build friendships, bring glory to His name, and to win others to Him! We decided to go through James and we'll be lifting up some Praise and Worship, prayer and thanks to God each week as well! Tonight it was me, Eric Brown, Bryan Roby and Beth Buchanan. We had a great time, and I could totally feel God's presence as we sang, prayed and dug into the Word together! God is so awesome and ready and excited to do great and mighty things this year in OPAS!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

that's all.

Hamlet

Oh my goodness. I'm totally breaking the rules and getting on my blog at the high school. 4th period today was AMAZING! We started Act V of Hamlet. I read for the "clown" and Michael for the other. It was like we were really performing the play - so awesome! Jacob (that's your brother, Tracy) was a riveting Hamlet, as he always is, but today was better than ever! He lowers his voice, and projects his voice and totally brings hamlet to life (slightly oddly at times, but nevertheless alive). These kids are just AWESOME! I never thought I would say this, but I'm really going to miss them when I finish up here in 2 1/2 weeks! It's hard to imagine how fast my time here at Consol has flown, and how much I have grown to love these kids. I am so thankful for that, because my heart was not in this in August when I started.

On a side note, 4th period is also "advocate" or study hall, and two of the guys decided to staple each other - yes, that's right - plunge a staple into each other's arms.

The stapler is now in my desk.

that's all.

WHY?

why do you IM someone, and then say about 3 things and then stop talking...i mean, really people. why bother initiating the conversation in the first place?

We had a blackout power outage at school this morning. It was during third period, and ended up being tons of fun - we kept reading A Man For All Seasons by the light of the "security" fixture. At the moment, I'm in freak out mode - I am not prepared for the day - I simply ran out of time, and energy last night. I don't know what I'm talking about in my classes (I mean - I have NO idea) and I'm about ready to cry. I'm definitely having one of those - I do not want to teach - kind of days.

Despite this, I love my kids - I guess I just wish things would be more "steady and normal" and it SUCKS that I'm not getting paid for this.

It's way too much work otherwise.

that's all.

CCC

I made chocolate chip cookies this weekend - I don't think I'll ever be able to make them again without thinking about my grandma, who when she could still cook made a MEAN chocolate chip cookie, and now - Austria, where we made HUNDREDS of them this summer since they don't have them over there.

Not to mention the fact they were delicious.

that's all.
